Different Types of Tree Pruning
As qualified and experienced tree surgeons, we can tackle all types of tree pruning jobs, including:
Formative – Formative pruning is performed on younger specimens, to ensure healthy, vigorous growth in the desired proportions. If you are keen for a tree to conform to a particular shape as it matures, it is essential to have formative pruning performed by experienced arborists every now and then. A degree of formative pruning may also be performed on older trees but in most cases less drastic results are achievable.
Restorative – Restorative pruning is normally performed on more mature specimens and is focused on the removal of damaged and diseased limbs. How effective restorative pruning can be may depend on the speed with which action is taken when damage and disease is spotted. However, even more advanced cases can often be saved so don’t think twice about calling for help if you need it.
Deadwood Removal – This type of pruning can be considered as general maintenance for otherwise healthy trees and consists of the removal of dead branches. In addition to aesthetic reasons, it is also performed to help prevent injury to persons and damage to property in high winds.
If you are not sure which type of pruning you require, please do not hesitate to call and speak to us during normal business hours or send an email at any other time. We will be happy to explain the differences in more detail and put together a tailored pruning package that includes elements of all three if desired.
